Burn Camp

Kids trying to get a Bassett hound to jump. Bassett: “You’ve got to be kidding!”

We have gone to Burn Camp every year since 2004!

On August 19, 2004, eight members of the Waggin’ Hearts Therapy Dog group attended visitor’s day at Burn Camp. This camp is sponsored by the Burn Foundation of Montgomery County and Paws for Kids in Maryland, and was held at Brethren Woods in Keezletown, VA.

It was a wonderful day filled with all kinds of activities for the children to enjoy.

For our part, we joined *Paws for Kids* in making well-trained, lovable dogs available for the kids to interact and play with. There was agility equipment set up for the kids to take the dogs through, a pond for the dogs to go swimming in, balls and frisbees to throw for the dogs to fetch, and time for the kids to just hang out with one of the dogs.

Needless to say, the dogs were a big hit with everyone including the counselors, who needed some Puppy Love too!
